ProfileAfter completing my BA in English at Wheaton College in Massachusetts , I began volunteering as a literacy teacher and ESL teacher. I found that I greatly enjoyed teaching and working with an international population. I went on to work in Texas in children's literacy and teaching English to adults. Following this, I decided to complete my CELTA certificate at Dalhousie University in Canada. Soon after, I moved to Vienna , Austria and began teaching business English and freelancing as an editor and translator. With an MA in Translation from the University of the West of England and many years of experience translating from German to English as well as editing monolingual English texts, I now work as a full-time translator and editor. In the spring of 2008 I successfully completed a medical terminology course, which allows me to add this field to my expertise. In addition to translation, I particularly enjoy researching and analyzing the power of language and its influence on the past and present.
